About

Milena Montero is an Argentine producer based in Los Angeles. Born in Buenos Aires, she moved to China at 18 years old on a scholarship to attend United World College, and later to the United States on a full ride to Ringling College of Art and Design, where she earned her BFA in Film.


Working across genre and documentary films, her work explores belonging, displacement, and the search for home. Her documentary short Culture War, about academic freedom and a Florida public honors college under a hostile political takeover, was nominated at the 44th College Television Awards. Her horror short Best Kept Shut won the Grand Prize at the Mometu College Film Festival along with financing to adapt it into a micro-budget feature. She solo-produced the feature adaptation in early 2026, which is now in post-production, alongside her follow-up documentary short The End is Nigh.


Her work has screened at 50+ festivals, earning a DGA Student Award, four Telly Awards, and a Jury Award at National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY). She is currently developing “Graveyard Shift”, a horror-comedy feature inspired by her own immigration journey, as a Plenty of Pie Talent Incubator Fellow and Reel Champions' NextGEN Mentee.
